Funeral Services for Minnie Lund, age 98, were held Saturday, April 28, 2007, at Zion Lutheran Church, with Rev. Kerry Boese officiating. Burial was in the Adrian Cemetery. Minnie died Thursday, April 26, 2007, at the Arnold Memorial Nursing Home. Minnie Roemeling was born November 16, 1908, the daughter of George and Mina (Goldhorn) Roemeling, in Beerta, Holland. She emigrated to the United States with her family when she was two years old. On February 17, 1933, she was united in marriage to Charles Lund. The couple farmed north of Lismore for four years. In 1937, they moved to Adrian where they spent the rest of their lives. Minnie worked as a nurse's aid at the Arnold Memorial Hospital for many years. Charles passed away in 1979. Minnie was the marathon coordinator for 22 years. Couples and singles played bridge, 500 and pinochle at their homes once a month. Minnie was the first person to become a resident at the Slade Hotel Apartments in 1987. She lived at the Slade Apartments until June of 2004 when she moved to the Arnold Memorial Nursing Home. Survivors include two daughters, Mavis King, Dell Rapids, SD, and Mary Kloster, Ostego, MN; grandchildren, Thomas Benson, Anne (Jim) LeBrun, Adrian and their children, Tyler, Alex and Brandon, Bret (Diane) Heitkamp, Champlin, MN and their children, Kalyn, Stephanie and Scott, Kyle (Eileen) Heitkamp, Excelsior, MN and their children, Marshall, Hannah and Lincoln, Kim Lieberherr, Maple Grove, MN and her children, Justin, Zachary and Paige, Karen (Brett) Julian, Eagan, MN and their children, Ashley, Lauren and Sidney, Kent Kloster, Eden Prairie, MN; sister, Angeline (Jim) Reisdorfer, Lismore; son-in-law, Brad Benson, Osceola, IA; sisters-in-law, Viola Roemeling and Ruby Roemeling, Adrian, and Dottie Roemeling, Sioux Falls, SD; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, Joyce Benson and Charlotte Heitkamp, great-granddaughter, Alecia Rae Heitkamp (Bret), sisters, Helen Paradis, Kate Jueneman and Elsie Henning, brothers, Cyrus, Edward, George, John and Jake Roemeling, and sons-in-law, Jud King, Don Heitkamp and Larry Kloster.
