Warrant 7 Sep 1802: Appraisal of real estate of Ephraim Twitchell late of Milford, will admin of only one share which is set off to Gershom Twitchell the eldest son, mentions advances during lifetime to David French, Stephen Thayer, Caleb Albee, Zuriel Hayward. Judge's note 1 Nov 1803 notes all heirs paid except small sum owed to Mary Albee still to be paid.

  4. The death date of Ephraim in 1802 (age 74) works out to a birth about 1728. It is not obvious if that is a second son named Ephraim, or an error in the age, since the recorded birth in 1723 would require an age of 79. However, the will of first wife Sarah's father in 1739 mentions the "three Sons of my Daughter Sarah Twitchel Dec'd" (Middlesex Probate 5002), suggesting the first Ephraim was still alive at that point, which rules out the possibility of a second son Ephraim born to the second wife.
