    "Ephraim Gile2 (Samuel1), son of Samuel and Judith (Davis) Guile, born at Haverhill, Mass., Mar. 21, 1661-2, married Jan. 5, 1686, Martha Bradley. He lived at Haverhill, and in 1711 was 'one of the soldiers supplied with snow shoes for emergency in case of attack by the Indians.' He was probably the Ephraim Gile who cut the first way to Cheshire, and was admitted an inhabitant of Chester in 1720."
