Emmett "Andy" Anderson, 73, of 314 E Ave. NW, died Wednesday at Mercy Hospital following a long illness.

Born Feb. 4, 1909, in Missouri, he married Gwendolyn J. Holly on April 14, 1980, at Cedar Rapids. He was employed by Ohsman & Sons Co. for 17 years prior to his retirement in 1962.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sisters, Pearl VanHolt of Quincy, Ill., and Lula Puhl of Waterloo.

Service: 11 a.m. at Turner Chapel West by the Rev. Alexander George. Burial: Cedar Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel from 3 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday when the casket will be closed. It will not be open following services. A memorial fund has been established.
