Ruth Shook spells the name "Sammons" while her marriage record spells it "Salmons."
A different Ruth Sammons lived in Clinton, South Carolina who was about the same age in the 1920 US Census. She was living with her grandparents. She is not believed to be our Ruth because her mother is listed as being born in Georgia, and the correct Ruth shows her mother’s birthplace as South Carolina in the 1930 US Census.
