Skowhegan, March 20---Mrs. Emma Palmer Weston died suddenly early Wednesday morning at her home on North Avenue Skowhegan.
She was born April 30, 1869 in Sebec, Maine, the daughter of Abner L. Palmer and Martha Peakes.
On April 18. 1889, she married Nelson W. Weston, a descendant of the first settlers of Skowhegan, and they resided many years on the John Weston farm on the Norridgewock Road. Mr. Weston died there Jan. 27, 1913.
Before her health failed, Mrs. Weston was prominent in civic activities and was an active member of the Congregational Church.
She was the mother of two sons, Howard N. Weston, sr., who lived with his mother and now survives, and Fred W. Weston, a former member of the Maine Racing Commission who died in Nov. 6, 1936.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Howard N. Weston, jr., Dow Field, Bangor; Mrs. Emily W. Lennartson of Falmouth Foreside; Nelson W. Weston, Air Force Headquarters in Japan; and Mrs. Priscilla A. Malinowski, Mamaroneck, New York; a sister Mrs. Caroline King, Fairfield, and a brother, Fred W. Palmer of Dover-Foxcroft.
Funeral Service were held at the Thomas G. Lord & Son Funeral Home in Skowhegan Saturday with the Rev. Lowell Q. Haynes officiating. Burial was in the family lot in South Cemetery. |
