Emma M. Boyd, 74, of Bloomington, formerly of Lincoln, passed away February 17, 2016, at 7:16 a.m. at her home.
Emma May Overbey was born January 9, 1942 in Lincoln, the daughter of Marion and Marguerite (Laughner) Overbey. She married Orville "Gene" Boyd. He preceded her in death in 2012.
Emma is survived by her children, Greg (Meg) Boyd, Robert (Lavonna) Boyd, Tammy (Ron) Miller and Rhonda Boyd; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two siblings, Marion Howerton and Guy Overbey.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Jerry Overbey.
Emma was well-loved by her family and friends. She had a giving heart and would never hesitate to help a friend or stranger in need. She never asked for anything in return except for the joys and comfort of a friend. She touched so many people along her journey and her legacy will live on in the hearts of many. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Even in her final days on earth her unselfishness and strength for her family could be seen by all.
