    3 Feb 1966, p 10 - Relatives here learned of the death Saturday (Jan 29) of Mrs. Emma Hall Magathan, former high school teacher in Crawfordsville. She recently underwent surgery for cancer. Born near this city, she was the youngest daughter of Henry Clay and Catherine Clodfelter Hall. She was a graduate of Crawfordsville HS and Northwestern University. Mrs. Magathan taught here and later, during WWI in the Philippines. While there she met Wallace Magathan then an attorney from Washington DC. After their marriage they lived 24 years at Takoma Park in that city. They were parents of four children, Wallace II, David, Elizabeth and Barbara. Mrs. Magathan was an active member of the Takoma park Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon and president of the Woman's Society. Mr. and Mrs. Magathan moved to California where he retired four years ago from the accounting firm of Lybrand Ross Bros & Montgomery. Survivors include the husband at Cardiff, two sons, Col. W.C. Magathan, stationed with the Army in Paris and David Magathan of Silver Springs, Md; two dauhters, Mrs. Conrad M. Wedberg of Palos Verdes, Calif; and Mrs. Joseph Evans of Normal Ill; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Stubbins of Foley, Ala and Mrs. Edgar Swank of Franklin Ind and 10 grandchildren. Five cousins live in Crawfordsville: Mrs. Dean Little, Leroy Hall, Mrs. Edmond R. Nutt, Mrs. John Galey and Miss Sarah Hornbaker. Funeral services and burial in California.
