Compare the birth record above to the coverage in Allred, p. 109, where she is listed among the children of David Gale Jr. and Augusta Goddard: "10 Emma Frances Crane, b. 24 Oct 1842, m. J. R. ALLEN".There is no Emma in the household of David and Augusta in 1850 (lines 9-20), 1855 (left side, lines 7-12), or 1860 (lines 11-14). No records supporting Allred's presentation have been found, and she appears to have invented the marriage when the record says she was born there.
The only Crane family listed in Warwick is Jared Crane and wife Sophia. This is his second wife whom he married in 1855. No daughter Emma is listed in his will (Worcester probate 13961), but since no obvious death record has been found, it is not known if Emma survived. So this is not conclusive.
