Emily SHOFFNER Black of Route 1. wife of the late John T. who was a pioneer hosiery industrialist died this morning at 6 o'clock at the age of 84. Mrs.. whose husband was one of the founders of Standard Hosiery had been in failing health for five years and was critically ill for the past year and a half. She was a native of Alamance County and was the daughter of the late Oliver T. SHOFFNER and Mrs.. Kizzie Fogleman SHOFFNER. Mrs.. Black was a member of Alamance Lutheran Church. Surviving are one Mrs.. M. R. Neese of six Mrs.. A. R. Mrs.. T. L. Mrs.. Jess Miss i Jean SHOFFNER and Miss Lizzie all of Mrs.. G. C. Allred of and one brother Claude SHOFFNER of Alamance. The funeral for Mrs.. Black will be held at Alamance Lutheran Church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock.
