Published on Wed Sep 28, 1892 in Williamston Enterprise - DIED - Dennis - Mrs Joseph Dennis died Saturday Sep 24th at her residence in Wheatfield aged 61yrs. Mrs. Dennis' maiden mane was Emily Richardson. She was born in Arcadia Twp, Wayne Co, New York on Feb 12, 1831. She was married to Joseph Dennis in 1850, came to Michigan in 1857, settling in the Twp of Wheatfield, where she has ever since resided. She had not enjoyed good health for many month, but was only seriously ill for 3wks. She leaves a family of 3 daughters, all of whom are married. Having resided in Wheatfield for so long a time she had a large acquaintance & was highly respected by all. Funeral services were held at her late residence on Monday forenoon, Rev S.B.Andrews, officiating. Her remaines were intered in the Dennis Cemetery. NOTE: the following week the newspaper printed a correction of her maiden name; saying it should be Emily Riggs.
