Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Irby, she was the granddaughter of Henry lrby, the founder/proprietor, in 1837, of The Buck's Head Tavern and Store from which the community of Buckhead derived it's name.

She was the wife of George Winship, Jr, son of George Winship, Sr - Memorial# 36280131.

Emily and George, Jr, had two children, Emily and George, III. She was an avid and gifted gardener.
