Obituary[1] 1 May 1965 PHILLIPS -- Embert Worcester, D C, 61, died Friday morning at his home.
Born at Columbia, April 17, 1904, he was the son of Erie and Lena Tibbetts Worcester. He graduated from Bangor High School and the Palmer School of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa, coming to Phillips in 1922. Mr. Worcester married Cora McLaughlin, Oct. 2, 1926, who died Dec. 9, 1940. He was employed as a bookkeeper for the Sandy River and Rangeley Lakes Railroad for several years. On April 21, 1936, he received his appointment as Phillips Postmaster, a position he held until his death. He married Edna Hodsdon, Sept. 9, 1944. He was president of the Franklin County Postmasters Association, a member of the National Association of Postmasters, a member of Blue Mountain Lodge, AF and AM; a member of Franklin County Fish and Game Association and the Phillips Fire Department.
Survivors include his widow; a son, Russell, Dixfield; a step-daughter, Mrs. Irene Varney, Phillips; a sister, Mrs. Corace Wing, Phillips; a brother, Cecil Worcester, Phillips; and five grandchildren.
