"Eugene Emanuel Wagner: Shortly before noon, Saturday, Eugene Emanuel Wagner passed away at his home on 201 Second Avenue, Derry. Infirmities of age caused his demise. He had been ill for some time and bedfast for about a month.
He was born in Adamsburg, a son of Tobias and Mary Hebrank Wagner. He had been a resident of Derry for many years. After long service as an engineer for the Pennsylvania Railroad Company, part of it in the passenger service, Mr. Wagner retired about 15 years ago. He was aged 85 years.
Surviving are his wife, Georgia A. Wagner, and these children: D. T. Wagner, of Parkersburg, W. Va.; Charles E. Wagner, of Latrobe; Mrs. Phoebe Shearer, of Derry; Mrs. Nellie Smith, of Latrobe; Mrs. Ila Hall, of Derry; also two sisters, Mrs. Ida Sheets, of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Sarepta Grove, of Duquesne, and a brother, Riley Wagner, of Roanoke, Va. Ten grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Wagner was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church and served on its Council for many years. He was also a member of the B. of L. E.
The body will lie in state from noon tomorrow until 2:30 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Derry. Services, starting at 2:30 tomorrow, will be in charge of his pastor, the Rev. Geo. D. Wolfe. Interment will follow in Cole's cemetery."
