According to granddaughter Joye Emma Downes her mother's parents adopted 3 girls in addition to their own daughters. Hundreds of individuals and their families are listed in connection with obituaries, marriage notices, etc. Sat 5-14-38 WALES--Mrs. Sophia C. Davis, 71, widow of Benjamin Davis, died at the family home Sunday morning after a long illness from carcinoma. Mrs. Davis was born in Moroni, October 30, 1866, a daughter of pioneer parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Christensen. She was married to Benjamin Davis of Wales on November 22, 1898, in Manti L. D. S. temple. She was an active worker in the L. D. S. church and served many years as a Relief society teacher. Surviving are six daughters and a son, Mrs. Virginia Oldroyd and Mrs. Minnie Downes of Provo, Mrs. Sadie Grow and Miss Faun Davis of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Hazel Andersen of Rexburg, Idaho, and Mrs. Ella Lamb and Royal Davis of Wales; three brothers, Erastus Christensen of Wales, Louis Christensen or Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Julius Christensen of Payette, Idaho. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Wednesday in Wales L. D. S. ward chapel. Interment will be in Wales cemetery, directed by Jacobs mortuary.
