Miss Elmira Gantz Died at the residence of her brother Dr. Gantz, Lancaster, Owen County, Ind. April ??, 1879. Miss Elmira, daughter of Jacob and Christina Gantz. She was born in Carroll Co., Ohio, January 27 (?), 1847. For many years previous to her decease she was a useful and sonsistent member of the Methodist Episcopal CHurch. For a number of years she was a prominent teacher in the schools of this county, and has been identifiedwith the cause of education as one of its leading spirits. Her death was sudden and unexpected. While visiting Lancaster she was stricken down with a violent attack of measles which terminated her life in a few days. She dies drusting in Jesus and triumphed in hope of eternal life. Her bright example as a Christian lady will long be cherished by a large circle of friends who sorrow on account of her departure, but who sorrow not a those who have no hope.
