- ↑ In an article called "Hudson Happenings" by Mrs. Frank Strock it is notedthat "The first mail was brought twice a week from Waterloo. It was alsohauled by dray from Summit at one time by Geroge McDougal... The PostOffice was located north of the stores. In about 1890 H.G. Garmireerected a fine new building for a Post Office and Harness Shop withample living quarters above. It is now used for a wreath factory by Johnand Chas. Rowe... January 1, 1946, the office was moved to the Normanbuilding near the center of town. A rural deliviery was started fromthis office in 1900... Elmer Clark was the first one required to pass anexamination for the position. He served frorm 1903-1909, five andone-half years."
