In the space for her parents, the ledger shows ditto marks. The line above says Albert and Jerusia Bruce. However, Albert and Jurusia Bruce were her contemporaries (in the 1850 census - Albert was 31 and Jerusia was 21). It appears that the ditto marks should have been dashes to indicate the information wasn't known.
↑ Most trees accept her surname as Bruce based on her death record, which is clearly incorrect. Given that she was about 20 when she married Jesse Jones and does not appear to have had any children prior to her marriage to Jesse, there is no reason to suspect that she was previously married, and thus Lasley was likely her maiden name.
↑ The 1850 and 1860 census records don't show much continuity in terms of the names of the children. (It appears that Lucinda was missing from the 1850 census record.) However, the 1853 birth record of Franklin Pierce, and marriage records for Catharine L Jones (probably Catharine Lucinda), Martha J Jones, Franklin P Jones, and Margaret P Jones all say their parents were Jesse and Ellen C[atharine] Jones.
