There is some doubt about her ancestry. Some discrepancies in the data may have lead to the conclusion that she is of the Gottleib Ostermeier family of Hancock County, Indiana. Most of the linkage is circumstantial. Her Death Certificate shows her father to be named CHRISTIAN. However, the History of Hancock County, in discussing the Gottlieb Ostermeier family, gives her husband as "BRUSKING". The Indianapolis family state that Ellanor was born in Hancock County. Pretty stong evidence of this being the same person, born on the same date. However, how could William & Ellanor have ever met?
