According to a newspaper article, friends helped her celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary in Kearney, Mo.

A later article says they were to celebrate their 61st wediing anniversary. They were married at the home of Mrs. Brubeck's father, near Platte City. They moved to Kearney in 1921. Mr. Brubeck was a farmer and a carpenter. They have a daughter, Mrs. May Pulliam of Kansas City.
