We know by Virginia marriage records that Elizabeth Wilson was a widow when she married James Bryan in 1804, but the identity of her first husband is in question. Montgomery County Virginia records point to at least one possibility: Possible clues:

1. A James Wilson married Elizabeth Dormond on 8 May 1793 in Montgomery County, Virginia. Additional research is needed to determine if James Wilson was her first husband or another Wilson.
2. James and Elizabeth Bryans deeded land to Green Wilson in Montgomery County, Virginia in June 1829 [Montgomery County, VA Deeds Book K, pg. 307. Perhaps Green Wilson was Elizabeth's son by her first marriage, or another close relative? Additional research needed.
