Staples may not be her maiden name. Another researcher says she was married to a Staples and a Webster. New England Families, Vol. IV, Genealogies and Memorials, Page 2038 calls her "widow, of Millington." If this is true, a possible husband was John Staples, born at Fairfield, Conn. abt. 1663, whose second wife (by mariage contract 10 June 1724) was widow Elizabeth Rowland. She was probably the widow of Israel Rowland, and perhaps the daughter of Robert Turney born 15 July 1668.
Family History of Central NY, Vol. I, Central New York Family Histories, Page 465 says of Elizabeth and Jonathan, ' "each aged about eighty years" at the time of their marriage.'
She and Jonathan had a daughter named Elenor.
