In the name of God Amen. The twenty fifth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred thirty & nine. I Elizabeth Swancote of the parish of Llanidloes in the county of Montgomery widow, being of sound & well disposing memory, do make this my last will & testament as follows. First I commit my soul to the possession of God Almighty, & my Body to the earth to be decently buried at the charge of my executors herein named & according to their discretion; trusting to the merits of Christ Jesus my Redeemer for the salvation of both at the Resurrection of the rest; And as to the disposal of my worldly goods after the payment first of my debts & funeral expences, I give & bequeath the same in the manner following. First I give & bequeath to my son Richard Swancote one shilling -- I also give & bequeath to my daughter Bridget the wife of Simon Evans one shilling -- I also give & bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth the wife of Edward Thomas one shilling -- I also give & bequeath to my Grand Daughter Elizabeth Thomas Daughter of Edward Thomas one Frank -- I also give & bequeath to my grand Daughter Mary Thomas Daughter of Roger Thomas my best chest -- I also give & bequeath to Edward Thomas son of Roger Thomas my second chest -- Lastly I give grant devise & bequeath all the rest & residue of my Houshold stuff & houshold goods in my house wherein I now dwell with all my credits, & chattels, & all my personal estate whatsoever, & wearing Apparel, the same I give, grant, devise, & bequeath to my son in Law Evan Arthur of Llandinam, and my two grandDaughters Elizabeth Thomas, & M[ary] Thomas, Daughters of Roger Thomas deceased, to be equally shar'd & forthcoming in three just & equal portions between my said son in Law Evan Arthur, & my said two grand Daughters Elizabeth & Mary Thomas, whom I do Appoint to be Joynt Executors, And further do desire & appoint my said son in Law Evan Arthur to Act both as Executor & trustee, during the minority of my other two executors, requiring him, as he must Answer to the contrary at the great day of Judgment, to see this my will faithfully & punctually fulfilled in every particular, and that A Just Dividend be Immediately forthcoming What is Due according to my will to the other two Co:executors, or to be requr'd for their use: And revoking all wills by me heretofore made, I declare this to be my last will & testament -- As witnesseth my hand and seal the day & year Above written;

Aug't 23th 1739: This Will was prov'd, and an Administration granted charged of the effects of the Deceas'd to Evan Arthur one of the Executors herein nam'd (the Rights of all partes being first reserv'd) who took his Corporal Oath upon the holy Evangelists before me John Tilsley
