ELIZABETH T RIZER - CUMBERLAND - Elizabeth Thomas Rizer, 93, of Cumberland, died on Monday, Sept. 1, 2003, at the New Hope II Extended Living Center. Born July 21, 1910, Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late George Washington Thomas and Elizabeth (Rank) Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Rizer, June 6, 1997. Mrs. Rizer is the last surviving member of her immediate family. A graduate of Beall High School, Class of 1929, Mrs. Rizer was a retired cafeteria manager at Beall High School. She was a member of Saint Johns Lutheran Church and the McKinley Chapter 12, the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by a son, Thomas L. Rizer and wife, Karen, Cumberland; a grandson, Tad L. Rizer and wife, Delores, Roanoke, Texas; a granddaughter, Keely F. Shoemaker and husband, Butch Jr. A funeral service will be conducted at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., on Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ken Korns officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
