Sasha's Obituary Wednesday .... Oct. 10, 1877 On Wednesday of last week, another old resident of Genesee County died at her home in Mundy Township. We refer to Mrs.Elizabeth Holtslander, wife of the late Adam Holtslander. Mrs. Holtslander was born in Goshen, Orange Co., N.Y. in June 1789, and would have been 89 years old next June. When 15 years old she removed with her father whose name was Satia, and married at the age of twenty in Mt. Morris, N.Y. Thirty years ago she came to this county settling in Mt. Morris, but subsequently moving to Mundy. Her husband died six years ago. She left five sons, John, Samuel, Adam, James, and Henry, all but the last of whom live in this county, and three daughters. Mrs. Holtslander became a Christian in early life and joined the Methodist Church of which she was a devoted member up to the time of her death. She was a woman of uncommon vigor of mind and body, and retained all her faculties and was in good health up to within a few days of her death. She leaves to her children the memory of a pure and devoted life, full of affection and good deeds.
