Partition began April 1876 after the death of Elizabeth Dial in 1874, regarding land left to Elizabeth by her father, Michael Snider at his death. The Partition was reopened in 1885 at the time that her husband, Burress Dial, who had lived on the homestead since the time of Elizabeth's death, wanted to sell the property.
