An obituary for Elizabeth (Seaver) Blanchard was published in the "National City News" weekly newspaper on 14 March 1914, page 5. It reads:

"BLANCHARD. At National City March 10, 1914, Elizabeth E. Blanchard wife of F.G. Blanchard of National city and mother of Frederick T. Blanchard of Berkeley Cal., and Lawrence C. and Kenneth L> Blanchard of National city, a native of Massachusetts, aged 54 years, 11 months, 12 days. Funeral services were held at the family residence at National City Thursday, at 2:30 o'clock p.m. Rev. E.S. Hill will officiate. Interment at La Vista cemetery."
