Dear George and Mohammed,

     I see you are related to the Santimo/St. Amand's of Simcoe county, C anada.   I'm also hoping you can help me learn a little more about the m.  One question before I share my info.  How is it that they use the nam es Santimo and St. Amand interchangeably?

     Armenia (Santimo) St. Amand, born 1845 in Canada, married Joseph As ia Truckey (born in Canada).  There are two daughters I know of, Josephi ne (married a Murphy and then Gregory Des Chaine in 1906) and Mary Zoe (ma rried Alphonso Brabant).

I believe Joseph died and Armenia married a Quinn (possibly Thomas) and th ey had a daughter Jennie. Jennie is my great great grandmother. The fami ly moved to Chippewa county, Michigan in 1891/2.

Family history (word of mouth) says Jennie was 1/4 Cherokee Indian. Wh en she married William Pringle in 1893 she did not list her parents. Wh en her daughters got married once she was listed as Quinn and once as John son. She appears to be hiding something. Also, looking her wedding pictu re in 1893 she has some Indian features.

In 1910 I found Jennie living with her brother in law, Gregory Des Chain e. His wife was Josephine. In Josephine's and Gregory's marriage I fou nd Armenia St. Amand and Joseph Asia Truckey as her parents. Also found t here that one of the witnesses was Armena Brabant.

In 1900 census, I found Armena Brabant's parents were Alphonso Brabant a nd Mary Z. Living with them was Mary's mother, Armenia Quinn. Either Arm enia changed her name for Jennie or she indeed married a Quinn. I thi nk it was the second.

In 1925 when Josphine died her parents were listed as Joseph Truckey and A rmeana Santimo.

While doing more research I found Joseph Santimo, born 23may1877 in Lafont aine, Simsoe county, Ontario, Canda. His parents were Abraham St. Amand ( notice the name change) and Louise Brabant. Louise I saw had a brother na me Alphonso, the same age as the Alphonso Brabant who married Mary Zo e. Is there a connection? I would say most likely.

That is about all I have to date. Maybe some of this will also help yo u. Any information, clues or help you could pass on would be greatly appr eciated.
