Elizabeth McCollum, age 91 of Mentor, OH, died Thursday, December 19, 2019, at Governor’s Pointe Assisted Living, Mentor, OH. She was born on April 4, 1928, in Wilkes Barre, PA.
Elizabeth worked as a nurse at Menorah Park. She enjoyed crafts, line dancing, and teaching classes at the Mentor Senior Center.
Survivors include her children: Suzanne (Robert “Bob”) Gambol, Linda (Tom) Holder, Ron (Claudia) McCollum, Kevin (Ruth) McCollum, Eric (Maureen) McCollum, Lisa McCollum, Jaime (Carolyn) McCollum, and Tim McCollum, 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and sister: Leona Messmer.
Preceding Elizabeth in death are her husband: Ronald McCollum, Sr., parents: John and Mary Ann Prebola, and siblings: John Prebola, Jr. and Mildred Soebing.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2019, at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
A memorial mass will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave. Mentor, OH 44060.
Private family inurnment will take place in Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg at a later date.
