It has been calculated that Elizabeth Pety was born about 1694. She married James Franklin in Purton parish. The parish records of christenings for Purton have gaps for the years 1692-4. The only Patey having children in this time period is a Timothy Patey. His first child was christened in 1691. The next recorded child in 1698 named Anne and the next is Sarah in 1702. Timothy and his wife Elizabeth probably had a child in 1693 and 1695. As our Elizabeth names a son Timothy and his wife was named Elizabeth as is her own, there is little doubt this is the correct family. As for the possible child in 1695, there is no information about it.
