- ↑ Familysearch.org trees here give specific birth and baptism dates, but closer inspection shows zero sources for the baptism, and the 5 sources for birth are all census and marriage records, none of which can support the specificity given in either date or location. So those dates are being ignored as unsourced.
- ↑ In the 1881 Canadian census, daughters Rosie and Grace are found living with an apparent aunt and uncle (here, lines 11 and 12). No birth record for Grace is found, but Rosie's birth is recorded in Metamora to parents John Ronald and Elizabeth Ronald (here, record 2689), and it is presumed Grace's birth was about 2 years later based on the information in the 1881 census. Since Grace is age 6, born about 1875, Elizabeth was alive then, but apparently deceased sometime before this 1881 census.
