The Rutmans (Darrett B. Rutman and Anita H. Rutman, A Place in Time - Middlesex County, Virginia 1650-1750 (New York: W. W. Norton & Company, 1984), pg 96) show Elizbeth's mother as Peter's first wife, who they identify as Elizabeth. They show (pg 95) that she married Doodes Minor in 1671 in Middlesex Co. Their 50+ large binders of notes are now in the Virginia Historical Society library. In them they show the source of every reference they found to all the events they mention in the book, except the marriage of Elizabeth and Doodes. No source is given for that event.

Elizabeth was named an heir in her father's will written 27 Mar 1659. It was probated 25 May 1659. She was to receive cash, so there is no record available to show her disposition of any real estate. The only other record supposedly of her under her maiden name was a gift of a "heyfer" to her niece Mary 12 Mar 1666/67 (Virginia M Meyer, editor, Adventurers of Purse and Person, Virginia 1607-1624/5 (Richmond: Order of First Families of Virginia, 1607-1624/5, 1987), pg 453, citing Lancaster Co. Deed &c. 4, 1666-82, pg 18).

I believe the Rutmans, finding no other reference to the maiden Elizabeth, and no other likely candidates for Elizabeth, wife of Doodes Minor, after exhaustive search of Middlesex records, concluded by process of elimination that they were the same woman. If so, they left no notes describing that conclusion.

Doodes died in 1694 or 1695 and his widow married second Maurice Cocke. He died in late 1696 and she married third James Blaise, who died in 1700.
