Elizabeth was the only child and heiress of Thomas Milstead (1701-1737) and Johanna (Edgar) Barnes (ca. 1710-1775). She was born posthumously. After her father died, her mother Johanna, remarried as her third husband, Henry Acton, Sr. (ca. 1684-1742). She married fourth, Peter Wood (d.ca. 1764).
Sally married Maj. William Truman Stoddert (1734-1770) and had the following children:
1. Susannah Truman Stoddert b. 12-4-1759 Prince George's Co., MD. d. ca. 1788 King George's Parish, Prince George's Co., MD.
m. Horatio Middleton (1755-1795).
2. Thomas James John Stoddert, Sr. b. 2-19-1763 Prince George's Co., MD. d. 9-17-1804 Charles Co., MD.
m. Chloe Hanson Dent (1766-1804).
3. Johana Truman "Anne" "Hannah" Stoddert b. 8-30-1765 Prince George's Co., MD. d. 1-16-1824 Charles Co., MD. (never married).

In memor of Elizabeth Stoddert who departed this life on Jul 30, 1803 aged 66 years. This stone is placed here by Thomas J.J. Stoddert of Pomonkey as a momento of his love and esteem for an affectionate mother. Once she was all that endeared and sweetened life, the tender mother, daughter, friend and wife.
