    I. Richard Hubbell (b. in England about 1627; m. 1651, probably at Guilford, Conn., Elizabeth [dau. of John Meigs and gr.dau. of Vincent Meigs who was born in Devonshire, Eng. in 1583, came to America in 1637, and died at Hammonassett, Dec. 1, 1658]). Richard Hubbell married three times and had fifteen children. He died Oct. 23, 1699. Richard Hubbell came to New England between 1640 and 1645; took the oath of fidelity in the New Haven colony, Mar. 7, 1645; became resident of Fairfield, Conn., 1664; is said to have been active in the Indian wars. Among his children by Elizabeth Meigs, was:
