Elizabeth Mabbott was baptised on 22nd July 1804 at Baldock in Hertfordshire, daughter of James and Susannah Mabbott.
On 24th January 1824, aged 19, she married James Pratt, a labourer from the neighbouring parish of Willian. They married at Willian, but settled in Baldock after their marriage, having eight children baptised there between 1825 and 1844. The children's baptisms all record the family as having lived at either Norton End or Norton Street, on the north side of Baldock. The 1841 census finds Elizabeth, James and their children living in Baldock with an elderly Susan Mabbot, who was presumably Elizabeth's mother.
The 1851 and 1861 censuses each find the family living at Norton End in Baldock. Elizabeth was working as a straw plaiter in 1861, and they also had two grandchildren living with them.
James died in 1862, aged 61. Elizabeth survived him by six years. She died in 1868, aged 64.
