Elizabeth Sargent, 88, of 80 East Chestnut street, died at 5:30 pm Saturday, September 3, 1960, following an illness of several months.
She was born near Beallsville, April 3, 1872, a daughter of Frank and Sarah Wharton Luellen.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Washington, Martha Paul Chapter 404, Order of Eastern Star, Bethesda Shrine, the Amarants, and Daughters of Union Veterans.
Mrs. Sargent was a member of the Washington Woman's Christian Temperance Union.
She was the widow of Avery Sargent, who died February, 1926.
She is survived by one son, Francis Sargent, of Centerville; three grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Herschel Sargent, two brothers, Thomas and Charles Luellen, and two sisters, Mrs. Flora Smith and Mrs. Nora Crouch.
