Elizabeth was accused of witchcraft and sent to prison in Boston on March 18, 1692 and held there until December. Elizabeth’s son, Thomas, petitioned the court for her release.[2]

    'In 1692, Elizabeth Hart, wife of Isaac, age about 80 [sic; given the typos in this article, it is possible that this is another one, but it might be the age given, since ages were frequently exaggerated in records], was accused of witchcraft, and on 18 March, was sentenced to prison in Boston. On 14 October 1692, her son, Thomas Hart, petitioned the General Court at Boston for his mother's release, ... Elizabeth was not released until the following December, ... "The old lady ... lived until 28 November 1700, a year or so after her husband. No headstones mark their graves" (Charles Carey, A Carey Family History, 269; Hart, 238-9).'
