There is some discussion as to Elizabeth's maiden name. Family tradition is that her maiden name was Ernst or Ernest. However, it seems more likely she was the Elizabeth Sprinkle named as a daughter in the will of Philip Heft. Philip Heft's daughter Susan was Henry Sprinkle's first wife. Thus, when Susan died, he married her younger sister. That said, if she gave all of her children the Ernst middle name, then perhaps she was an Ernst or perhaps her mother was an Ernst. More research needs to be done. If you have information, please let me know.

Inscription
There is no visible stone for Elizabeth. There are several broken fragments of flat gray stone lying about the base of the tree, and a large fragment without inscription but with finished edges lying under Henry's stone. An old transcription is said to show: Mar. 7, 1781 - Nov. 1, 1836
