"Elizabeth, may be the one who died at Watertown, 24 Aug 1700, age 66, which could agree with her supposed birth ca 1633/4, mentioned above. Some authorities have claimed that Elizabeth (Hammond) Woodward married (2), Samuel Truesdale, although no proof has been given. Jackson, in his History of Newton, claimed that Samuel Truesdale's 2nd wife was Elizabeth, dau of Thomas Hammond, Sen, and wid of George Woodward of Watertown, and that Samuel died 2 Mar 1695, age 49. If he married Elizabeth just after 31 May 1676, the date of George Woodward's death, he would have been ca 30, and Elizabeth ca 42. However, no marriage record or other evidence for the above has been found. A Middlesex county deed dated the same date as Elizabeth's reported death on 21 Aug 1700, stated that Samuel Eddy, Elizabeth (Woodward) Eddy, his wife, Isaiah Whitney & Sarah (Woodward) Whitney, both daus of George & Elizabeth Woodward, sold 7 acres to Edward Goddard, 'late in the occupation of widow Woodward'. This certainly would give no indication that Elizabeth had previously married Samuel Truesdale, who had already deceased according to the records."

Also note that the youngest known child of Samuel and Mary (Jackson) Truesdale, Ebenezer, was born at Newton in 1685.
