Spring 1775-- William Hamilton and Robert Hamilton arrive in America from Scotland. They were sent by their father to establish a homestead in America.[1]


Late summer 1775-- Robert Hamilton joins the Continental Army.[1]


Fall 1775-- William Hamilton arrives at Fort Pitt.[1]


Late fall 1775-- William Hamilton is captured by, then escapes from, Native Americans.[1]


November 1775-- William Hamilton lands at Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky on a trading boat.[1]


November 1775-- William Hamilton is captured by Native Americans and brought to Canada. He is later released and travels to Fort Pitt.[1]


1776-- William Hamilton departs Fort Pitt, arrives in Fort Washington (Cincinnati), travels the Ohio River and eventually arrives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He then travels back to Scotland.[1]


2 March 1782-- Elizabeth Hamilton (1782-1828), the daughter of Alexander Hamilton (1748-1804), and Elizabeth Brodie (1749-1833), is born in East Lothian, Scotland.[2]


1784-- William Hamilton, Alexander Hamilton (1748-1804)[3][4], Elizabeth Brodie (1749-1833)[5][6], Elizabeth Hamilton (1782-1828), Catherine Hamilton (1783-)[7], Jennette Hamilton, and Margaret Blakie (1723-1786)[8]arrive in Philadelphia from Scotland.[1]


1786-- Margaret Blakie dies in Philadelphia.[1]


23 January 1786-- William Hamilton buys 500 acres of land in Lafayette County on a branch of the Licking River.[9]


1787-- The William and Alexander Hamilton family arrive in Mason County, Kentucky by horseback. William and Alexander later purchase land from Ignatius Mitchell.[1]


6 September 1796-- Alexander Hamilton purchases 98 acres of land from Ignatius and Milly Mitchell in Mason County, Kentucky.[10]


12 July 1803-- Alexander Hamilton buys 98 acres of land in Mason County, Kentucky. The land is located on the waters of the Lawrence Creek.[11]


11 March 1805-- Probate records for Alexander Hamilton are recorded in Mason County, Kentucky.[12]
