(III) Paul, third son and child of Captain John and Elizabeth (Waldron) Gerrish, was born in 1674, lived in Dover, New Hampshire, and died there June 6, 1743. He married October 2, 1712, Mary Leighton, of Kittery, Maine. Children: Paul, born 1713; Elizabeth, 1714; Mary, 1614 [sic]; Samuel, 1722, a distinguished captain of the old French and Italian wars; Jonathan, 1726; Lydia, 1730; Benjamin, 1732.
