Irish settlers of McHenry & "Brookdale" If you live in the area that you are researching, go to the library in Woodstock and go to the local history section on the 2nd floor. (I did this about 3 years ago) and was very pleased with the info. that I found. There are listings of the inscriptions on all the headstones in local cemetaries and descriptions of the cemetaries. Because of Prairie fires, many of the early Irish churches have burned down, some more than once, but the cemetaries remain.
