Facts and Events
Name Elizabeth Emms
Gender Female
Marriage 28 Mar 1744 Alcester, Warwickshire, Englandto Robert Lane
Burial[2] 3 Oct 1791 Bishampton, Worcestershire, England

Elizabeth Emms’ origins have yet to be established. Her first confirmed sighting is on 28th March 1744, when she married Robert Lane at Alcester in Warwickshire.

After their marriage, Elizabeth and Robert settled at Bishampton in Worcestershire. They had ten children baptised there between 1746 and 1768.

Robert appears to have died whilst Elizabeth was pregnant with their youngest daughter. He died on 8th May 1767 and was buried two days later at Bishampton, alongside his parents. He was 46 years old. Their youngest daughter was not baptised until eight months after his death.

Shortly after Robert’s death, his widow Elizabeth assigned a lease of some land at Wickhamford, which had very likely been Robert’s lease in his lifetime. Elizabeth survived Robert by 24 years.

On 19th September 1791 Elizabeth wrote her will, dividing her possessions amongst her various adult children. She died shortly afterwards, being buried at Bishampton on 3rd October 1791. Her age is not recorded, but it was 47 years since she had married.
