Elizabeth Edmiston (Edmondson) married Samuel Gilliland in January 1775 in Greenbrier County, Virginia. Sources disagree on her parentage, which remains undetermined. She is sometimes referred to as "Elizabeth Smith Edmiston/Edmondson", and some sources claim she was a Smith widow prior to her marriage to Samuel Gilliland (sources unknown). More research needed.

    She was married to Samuel on January 1775, Bath, Greenbrier Co., Va. They had 9 Children. Nathan, Jane, Andrew, Elizabeth, Hugh, Susannah, Nancy Ann, Sam (my Great, Great, Great Grandpa) and John. Samuel is buried at Fitzgerald Cemetery, in Mt. Sterling, Ohio.

Elizabeth Smith (born 1695) was married to Samuel Gilliland (1690 - 1740). He was the father of Nathan GILLILAND born 1720. Nathan was the father of Samuel Gilliland 1754/5 who was married to Elizabeth Edmiston.
