    There are records that John and Elizabeth Goad Dodson left Richmond County VA before 1741. On 6 June 1737, they left 2 young sons, Charles, age 1 and Moses, age 8, in the care of the church wardens of North Farnham Parish in Richmond County . The reasons are unknown. By 1741, John Dodson was in West Augusta District when a daughter Elizabeth was baptized by the Reverend John Craig of the Donegal PA Presbytery. Rev. Craig ministered in the upper Shenandoah area and to the upper branches of the James and Roanoke rivers.
