CROSSMAN, Elizabeth [T.P.R. Elisabeth Crosman], d. Robert Jr., [born] Feb. 20, 1683 [sic, dup. and T.P.R. 1684] [Note: "sic" because another record in the VRs shows a still-born son d. 21 Oct 1683, making both 1682/83 and 1683/84 impossible. Thus, the alternate records saying 1684 suggest 1684/85 is the right answer.]

LUSCOMBE, Elizabeth, w. Francis, [died] Feb. 16, 1733-4, a. 49. [Elisabeth, GR1] [Note: birth about 1684. GR1=Plain Burying Ground, between Broadway and Washington Street, Taunton]
- NYGBR, Vol. 22, p. 79, says Elizabeth m. 28 Dec 1709 John White Jr. But the will of her father identifies his son-in-law as Francis Luscombe and names four Luscombe children including Mary Luscombe who m. 1729-30 Nathaniel Willmarth and d. before the will was written in 1736. So the marriage to Francis probably occurred by 1720 at the latest (no record of the marriage or births of children found). Could Elizabeth have married (1) John White Jr. and then m. (2) Francis Luscombe? Or could the Elizabeth Crossman who m. (1709) John White Jr. be the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Crossman b. 1691? Hint: Samuel Crossman of Raynham in his will dated 1748 [Bristol Probate 7135] names daughter Elizabeth White, as well as other children born to Samuel Crossman of Taunton.
