FIRST VISIT IN 26 YEARS MENTOR. - Mrs. Elizabeth Corning Allyn of Portland, Ore., is visiting her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Corning of S. Center st. Mrs. Allyn was a resident of Mentor until 25 years ago, when she moved to California. This is her first visit here since that time, and many social gatherings are planned for her during her stay. Mrs. Allyn arrived about a week ago with Mrs. Mary Corning Woodruff. Mr. Allyn has since joined her here. He is engaged in the contracting business in Portland (The Lake County News-Herald, Willoughby, Ohio)

Mr. and Mrs. Corning Learn of Interesting Trip Made by Daughter. Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Corning are in receipt of advice form Portland, Oregon, that their daughter, Mrs. B. T. Allyn underwent a successful operation Monday, Dec. 21st, for inward goitre. Mr. and Mrs. Allyn reently returned to their home in Portland form a six weeks' trip to Tuscon, New Mexico, where they visited cousins of Mr. Allyn, Marx Mason and his mother, Mrs. Edith Christy. Mrs. Allyn writes they visited many interesting places on the trip which covered 3653 miles. Lake Tahoe, Milford, Utah, the northeast rim of the Grand Canyon, the ruins of the Cliff Dwellers, Pueblo and the Roosevelt Dam were some of the many stops they made. On their return trip they spent Thanksgiving with Mrs. Allyn's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Will Corning of Ocean Park, California, and also visited with their aunt, Mrs. Lizzie Corning Mills. While Mr. Allyn at home drives a Buick, the trip was taken in a Ford and they are loud in their praise of teh agility of the Ford in getting thru narrow places and over the mountains.
