Born July 11, 1946, in Rapid City, SD, she was the daughter of the late Donald Raymond and Elizabeth Jane (Wriston) Butterfield. She was "Jane the Can Lady", rummaging through the county for aluminum cans and other scrap metal to help support the local animal shelters.

Survivors include: her husband, Tom Socci of Harrodsburg and her brother, Raymond Butterfield of Quartz Hill, CA .
