5. William was an Indian agent and it is believed that Elizabeth may have been a Cherokee Indian. Another Bunch Girl married another O'Dochartaigh at about the same time. Note: At the time of historical recording the O'Dochartaigh name was not used so it is quite possible that (Sally Bunch-'the other Bunch Girl) was married to an unknown Daugherty newly arrived from Ireland to America within that generation as that was the surname used by individuals related to the O'Dochartaigh Clan that had came to America landing at New Castle County, Delaware on 27 December, 1729 . William's wife Elizabeth was a heroine in the terrible raid by Corn Stalk; the Shawnees were seen from Fort Young on Jackson River and an express was sent to William Daugherty-I's, but he was away from home and Elizabeth mounted and raced up the Cow pasture valley warning settlers, who fled to the mountains before the Indians arrived. The settlers of Keer Creek were less fortunate and Charles Daugherty (William's brother ), among others was killed on 17 July, 1763 (Ibid, page 250).
