Elizabeth Ball was baptised on 9th June 1749 at Sleaford in Lincolnshire, daughter of Thomas Ball. Her baptism record does not name her mother.

On 1st September 1772, aged 23, Elizabeth married a miller called John Ingram at Sleaford. He was from Harrowby in the parish of Grantham, and they moved to that area after their marriage, living for some time at Manthorpe, a hamlet which was in the parish of Grantham, but to the north of the town itself.

Between 1773 and 1783 they had six sons, four of whom were baptised at Grantham, and the other two at nearby Ingoldsby. Four of the boys died young: three as babies and their eldest when he was only six years old, being buried on the same day in 1779 as one of his baby brothers. Three of the boys were buried at Great Gonerby, just west of Manthorpe.

Elizabeth died at the age of 33. She was buried at Great Gonerby on 7th April 1783. John survived her by 34 years and remarried in 1785.

Whilst no named connection has been found, this baptism has been linked to the Elizabeth Ball who married John Ingram at Sleaford in 1772 on the basis that it is in the same parish in which Elizabeth was living at the time of her marriage, and at the time implied by the age given when she died.
